Southern Bear plc - New Director

Southern Bear plc ("Southern Bear" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mark Sims, aged 35, as Executive Director with effect from today. Mr. Sims is currently Executive Director of BGC Limited, Support Services Limited and Phoenix Dynamics Limited.

Commenting on this announcement, Southern Bear Chairman, Jon Pither, said:
"We are delighted that Mark has moved up to the Southern Bear Board as he brings a wealth of experience to the Board. His appointment will strengthen the Board in preparation for our next phase of growth across the trading divisions and his experience will be invaluable in continuing to provide a very high level of senior management expertise, and corporate direction. Mark will help in providing challenge, objectivity and experience in planning the Groups future strategy to maximise the opportunities that the Group now enjoys from is status within the Support Services sector".
Mr. Sims is, or has been in the previous five years, a Director of the following companies:

Mr. Sims holds 11,953,125 shares in Southern Bear.
